Mercedes' new grand tourer, the CL class makes a debut

With the launch of the new S Class last year, it was only right that the new CL class follows suit. Traditionally termed as the S-Class coupe, the new CL follows the graceful styling of the old CL with the fusion of the new S majestic design. All the technological innovations that makes its appearance in the new S Class will be available in the new CL, including the intelligent ambient lighting system and the PRE-SAFE predictive safety system. It comes with 2 engine variants of the V8 and the V12 engines and a CL63 AMG will most likely appear in the next few months.

On the outside, the new CL displays a more upright front grille of louvred chrome slats with the large shining star that is larger than its predecessor, and the exterior dimension also seems to have grown. The side profile of the car provides an elegant view with the tapered C-pillar and the uninterrupted expanse of glass. Large wheel arches are carried over from the S-Class styling while the back end design gives the new coupe a more svelte look. An optional AMG styling bodykit will enhance the sporty nature in this luxurious Grand Tourer.

Inside, the new CL features a slightly cleaner look of the S-Class dashboard with more wood taking up the center console. For the flagship V12 CL600, there are Exclusive PASSION leather appointments, specially selected poplar wood and an Alcantara roof liner with quilted seams that exemplify a first class club ambience.
